Fenniarail’s Managing Director to change

30. kesäk. 2022

Juha Hakavuori, Managing Director of Fenniarail Oy, will take over as Managing Director of Pääkaupunkiseudun Kaupunkiliikenne Oy by 17 October 2022. Fenniarail’s board has started the recruitment process for a new CEO.

Juha Hakavuori has been the CEO of Fenniarail since August 2017. Hakavuori will be at the board’s disposal until October, ensuring a smooth transfer of duties and responsibilities to his successor.

Managing Director Juha Hakavuori:

”The last five years at Fenniarail’s service have been rewarding, thanks to our customers and our competent, committed personnel. I became familiar with public transportation in the capital region when I was the CEO of Helsingin Bussilikenne Oy. I will return to public transport in the autumn, this time to metro and tram transport.

The Finnish railway market has changed substantially and this offers a lot of opportunities for Fenniarail. Fenniarail will grow and bring flexible, individual services to a wider customer base.”

Chairman of the Board Petri Lempiäinen:

”On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank Juha for his important work and determination during the company’s turning point. During the last five years, Fenniarail has faced several challenges as a market opener, and under Juha’s leadership, the company’s operations are well established. We wish Juha success in his new job with public transport.”

Fenniarail Oy started out as the first private railway operator focusing on freight traffic and has changed the operating models of the industry. The company’s turnover in 2021 was €6.9 M and the company operates with six locomotives and 22 wagons on the Finnish rail network. The company has 28 employees.
